Wednesday Outfit: Wait, it's Wednesday Again?

I'm definitely still in the beginning stages of beating my exhaustion with a stick.  But, here's an outfit post anyway.

Navy knit top - H&M
Sewing Circle Dress - Floreat (via Anthropologie)
Black Jenna flats - Bass

Thought I'd try something different with this dress, and I'm not sure I care for it. But it's something, anyway.  I removed the shoulder straps because I thought they'd look silly with the shirt, but they actually did a surprising amount to hold the dress up.  So, I may go back to the old way of wearing this dress.  It's an outfit on repeat, but it's an outfit that works, and when you're as tired as I am most of the time, there's a lot of merit in that.

Just for yucks and giggles, here's some of the outfits you've missed while I've konked out before actually uploading them and talking about them.

Yup, those are some pictures.  And just for reference, the bottom left shirt isn't an Obama shirt it's actually my G-Force crew shirt:

Yes, we did in fact parody the poster with a guinea pig and put it on t-shirts.  However, it was about as grandiose as Darwin generally tried to be, so I guess it fit.

Darwin: The fate of the free world rests on my shoulders.
Hurley: [falls over laughing] You don't even have any shoulders!

I'm actually pretty sure the second half of that ended up on the cutting room floor.  But it was one of my favourite lines and deserves to be preserved.  Goodness knows little enough of the movie deserves it.  Well, maybe that's not fair.  I've had a lot of parents stop me while wearing that shirt to let me know how much their kids loved it.  And it's better than The Smurfs.  But I feel like that's not much of a benchmark to go by.

Anyway, I'm rambling, which means I'm clearly too tired to be blogging.  Adieu, and hopefully I shall see you all upon the morrow.

Wednesday Outfit: Working the Image

Also known as, we all just got our brand new Imageworks jackets.  It is really nice and really comfy- I am a big fan.

Navy blue Imageworks track jacket - Imageworks exclusive
White knit shirt - Pink Ice
Blue jeans - Gap
Red flats - Madden Girl

Yup.  I can't think of another non-fashion field that likes its accessories so much.  Of course, it's been a while since we've had a new company-wide clothing article- the last sale was of simple grey unisex tees with the company logo.  Super comfy, but not very interesting.  I got that one just before I was laid off after G-Force, and it's mostly pajamas.  Or for wear when doing things like painting or such activities.

That said, casual, but fitted and flattering.  I'm quite happy with the fit of this jacket.  Apparently there were a lot of complaints that the jackets ran small, but thankfully as a small person it worked to my advantage. This doesn't always happen with the stuff we order, so I'll take it where I can get it!

Tuesday Outfit: Not Dead Yet

So, as it turns out my work schedule is actually getting to me, and I should rethink my posting strategy so that I can post regularly, but not erratically.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are my easiest days to wrangle, so it may come down to that.  I may add in Saturday if I go to a staggered schedule.  For now, I'm just pressing on (all my distress is going, going, gone... anyone get the reference?  Probably not, but I'm tired and clearly don't know when to stop my parentheticals).

Denim jacket - Gap
Kissing Friday dress - Bailey 64 (via Anthropologie)
Braided leather belt - H&M
Red flats - Madden Girl

There actually wasn't much method to this outfit.  In fact, this morning I was mostly thinking that I am in desperate need of doing laundry, but I had a fair selection of clean dresses.  I was also mostly just happy to have not slept through my alarm again. So, another victory for groggy dressing.

Wednesday Outfit: My Happy Skirt

Another day, another way to mix the things in my closet.

Denim jacket - Gap
Purple knit tee - H&M
Cream ribbon skirt - Lithe (via Anthropologie)
Red flats - Madden Girl

Comfy outfit for a moderately warm day.  I really love this skirt- it's light and colourful, and goes with many things.  It just makes me happy to put it on.  Everyone should have such items in their wardrobe.  Bad day?  Put on the happy skirt!  Or shirt, or pants, or whatever you have.

Tuesday Outfit: Ruffles and Ivy

Yesterday I got my order from RockLove's annual birthday sale- I got the ivy drop earings I've had my eye on for a long time, and I also picked up the black rose studs because I wear her coral rose studs all the time.  Can I just say how much I love Allison's work?  Because it's a lot, and if you've never browsed through her site, it's worth a look.  She rocks the jewelry all by herself, and is amazing.  Full disclosure: I don't make a cent off of talking up her jewelry.  She's just a college friend who is great at what she does, so I like to spread the word.

Purple knit top - Anthropologie
Blue jeans - Gap
Black Jenna flats - Bass
Ivy Drop earrings - RockLove Jewelry

I like the way the shirt and the earrings work together stylistically.  The jeans were a lazy choice, sure, but I only got six hours of sleep last night and dressed myself while still groggy.  I think this is an improvement from some of my less auspicious outfits put together while still half asleep.

I think that's a goal of mine.  Not only to dress in an interesting and stylish manner, but to be able to do it while sleeping.  Hours I work, that's going to be required.  All things to work towards!

Tuesday Outfit: Casual Rabbit Hole

Yeah, I know I said I was going to try to swear off the jeans and t-shirt look, but what can I say?  Mornings don't agree with me and I didn't do my laundry until today.

Alice in Wonderland crew shirt in blue - Imageworks exclusive
Olive khaki pants - Daughters of the Liberation (via Anthropologie)
Blue moccasins - Peace Moccasins

So, this is variation 2 of the Alice crew shirt.  This is the unisex shirt, which I mainly picked up because the women's style shirt didn't come in blue, only this kind of really light steel grey.  Which is an okay colour, but look at the blue!  It's so much nicer, even though the cut is nowhere near as nice.  Yeah.  That show was, hands down, the least organized shirt order I have ever seen.  Even Green Lantern, the successor to the crazy, had their shirts in order.  I expect Arthur Christmas will see a new round of shirts for the summer in the next couple of months, which will be nice. Not like I obsessively collect shirts from every show I'm on or anything...

Tomorrow will be more interesting (I hope). We shall see... I think things are about to get crazy, so hopefully I'll be able to stay on top of things.

Monday Outfit: Back and Bright

Well, the cold of doom still isn't gone, but I decided that wasn't going to tone me down today, because I am really tired of being tired.

Denim jacket - Gap
Orange silk dress - Edme & Esyllte (via Anthropologie)
Red flats - Madden Girl

Yup.  This was simple, easy, didn't take much time to throw on in the morning, felt cheerful, and just plain worked.  I'm still congested, sadly, and small errands are making me really tired.  But hopefully if I just keep resting, then all will be well soon.  If not, I may actually have to go see my doctor about this, because a week of congestion is downright silly.

Hope all of you are feeling much better than I am.

Tuesday Outfit: Almost Like Pajamas

So, I dragged my sorry butt out of bed and to work this morning, and I wore an outfit that I thought most closely resembled pajamas while still being actual everyday clothing.

Denim jacket - Gap
Purple wrap sweater - Anthropologie
Grey comfy pants - Anthropologie
Black flats - Bass

These pants are amazing.  I pulled them off a rack at random because I wanted to try on a sweater, and I was wearing a dress that day.  I walked out without the sweater, but with the pants, because wearing them is like giving your legs a hug.  That is how awesome they are.  And that seemed perfect for going back to work in spite of not actually feeling any better than I did on my sick day.

Tomorrow's another FFB day!  Hopefully I'll have something for it... this cold has knocked me out pretty badly, but I have a backup topic in the pen in case I really run out of ideas.

Cheers, and have a lovely day!

Friday Outfit: Looks Like Monday

No, really.  I didn't realize it until I was at work, but I wore almost the exact same thing, just with different shoes and a different quirky tee.

I wanted to come here with a picture for you, but I only have one, and my camera is not cooperating right now. Also, it's a little strange because it's after a costuming event where I was Leia, so I still have my hairpiece on (I don't like taking it off if I'm going to be going anywhere public, as I hairspray my hair up there pretty firmly.  And it's a picture of me with a fellow moderator at TheForce.Net who I have been modding with and living in the same region as for two years, and we only just met.

So, I shall offer the picture on the tee:

Threadless: "New Hairstyle" tee

I love this shirt, and I like wearing it to events where I'm being Leia.  I kind of had to dress Star Wars-y, since I didn't have time to go home after work before driving down, since Costa Mesa is forever away in late afternoon traffic. It's a habit we have of wearing our nerd gear out to events as our street clothes to make ourselves easily identifiable in a crowd if we're looking for people, or people are trying to find us.  It's a good system.

Anyway, I'm fading fast, my camera still isn't cooperating, and I have to work in the morning, and then drive back to Costa Mesa to do the same thing, but as a wrangler/photographer this time.  Good times!

Thursday Outfit: Kiss Me, I'm (partly) Irish!

So, St. Patrick's Day!  The day of all things Irish, and many things we just pretend are Irish so everyone can wear very sparkly green things and get very drunk.  Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind- I didn't have the green beer myself, but I did make a chocolate Bailey's milkshake.  It was delicious.

Green patterned tank top - Anthropologie
Denim jacket - Gap
Caramel khaki pants - Spoon Jeans
Braided headband - H&M
Green scarf (not pictured- it got too warm and I took it off) - scarf booth in Hollywood

Clover Emblem necklace - RockLove Jewelry

The necklace also gets a special mention here.  RockLove is an independently owned jewelry company completely run by one of my college friends, the lovely Allison Hourcade.  I met her my freshman year when we were the only two people on our floor for Winter Term, and we shared tea.  She's an extremely talented designer and silversmith, and I highly recommend you check out her site.

As the title indicates, I do in fact have a bit of Irish in me.  My great grandfather, James Moran, came to the United States from Dublin during the 1916 revolution by stowing away on a boat because his best friend got caught in the crossfire and died, and he just wanted out of the country.  He ended up getting a guilty conscience and turning himself in, but the immigration folks just told him he could go live in Canada for six months and then come back in the right way.  Imagine that happening anymore.

I never really knew Grandpa Jim, as he died when I was just a baby, but I know him through my dad's stories.  He was the family prankster.  He put coffee in a Coke bottle to fool my coffee-hating uncle into drinking it.  At my parents' wedding, he pretended to have a wooden leg, and had the pastor fooled for almost the entire time- until he accidentally switched which leg he was hobbling on.  He walked with the Mayor of Chicago in the St. Patrick's Day parade because he went one year and just decided he wanted to.  The security folks were dubious, but the Mayor quickly figured out that this random guy was very Irish, and let him walk with him for a block or so.

He also worked as a set builder at the old MGM studios for a little while, which is very special to me because the old MGM lot is now owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, which is the company I work for.  I don't actually work on the main lot, but I use the gym there.  It's very cool to think, when I walk through the lot, that my great grandfather was there some 75 years before me.  Especially since the rest of my family is still back in Michigan.  Grandpa Jim didn't stay here long, since Grandma Grace didn't care for Hollywood, but it is good to know I'm carrying on one family legacy.

The rest of me is English and Scottish, but I like to think I mostly got the Irish genes.

I hope you all had a very celebratory day!

Wednesday Outfit: Shoes that Pop

So, when I was in high school and college and caught episodes of What Not to Wear, one of the tips I picked up was that, if you had a good pair of red shoes, you could make any outfit pop.

 Blue cardigan - Love Culture
Sewing Circle dress - Floreat (via Anthropologie)
Braided belt - H&M
Red flats - Madden Girl

I was a little skeptical, but eventually ended up giving into the red shoes.  I found this pair of flats and as you can all see, I wear them all the time.  But especially with an outfit like this that is so monochrome, and is another primary colour, the red really stands out.

It's late, so that's all I've got.  Love this dress, love this combination, it's a great look for work.  I want to find some other ways to style this dress, but as I've mentioned, the time change is kicking my butt.  But tomorrow I've got a little Irish spirit planned, so hoorah for that.

Monday and Tuesday Outfits: Spring Forward Kicks My Butt

Okay, so two things have delayed my posting.  The time change is one- I'm not an early riser to start with, but moving my 6:30AM start an hour earlier is just cruel.

The second is Japan.  Most people wouldn't guess this about me (can't imagine why), but I have family over there.  My aunt married a Japanese man, and they live and work over there.  Thankfully, they're alive and as well as can be expected.  They live 230 miles from the epicenter and far enough off the coast that water damage wasn't a problem.  But the earthquake hit hard, and all the aftershocks are still hitting hard.  Plus, there's that whole threat of nuclear meltdown (unlikely, but still scary), food shortage, power shortages, gasoline shortages... it's worrisome and I've sort of been glued to the news sites.  I should probably do that a little less, as it's stressing me out.  But if you have any inklings of sending aid to Japan in any form, even if it's just your prayers or happy thoughts, please do.  It's really rough over there right now, and that's a massive understatement.

Anyway, outfits!  Outfits are completely non-stressful.

Navy ribbed knit top - H&M
Beige "Choose Your Own Adventure!" tee - Threadless
Olive khakis - Daughters of the Liberation (via Anthropologie)
Blue moccasins - Peace Moccasins

Navy knit top - H&M
Purple woven scarf - a market in India (gifted)
Black embroidered skirt - Floreat (via Anthropologie)
Black Jenna flats - Bass

I'm still a sucker for Threadless shirts (I'll stop buying them when they stop being awesome).  The blue moccasins are actually some of my favourite shoes for their comfy factor, I just hadn't worn them in a while.  I bought them at a general store in northern Michigan, and I love them. The purple scarf was a Christmas gift from one of my college roommates who spent I think 6 months serving in the Baha'i temple in India.  I got it in the mail on New Year's Eve 2009, when I was stuck in California and away from my family for the holidays.  I left work prepared to be miserable, and came home to that scarf.  It is lovely, and it makes me happy to wear it.

The other pieces are standards for me, and I'm really tired.  And 6:30, oddly enough, still comes way too early.  But tomorrow I'll be back with another Feminist Fashion Blogs post!

Friday Outfit: Corded, Braided, and Ribboned

It's Friday and slightly less gorgeous than the last couple of days.  Still a great day for this short sleeved sweater!

Blue cable knit sweater - ModCloth
Braided leather belt - H&M
Cream ribbon skirt - Lithe (via Anthropologie)
Red flats - Madden Girl

I really ought to consider tucking my shirts into this skirt.  It would give me such a nice waistline.  The belt helps, but I think letting the skirt do the work might work better.  In any case, this outfit was a good weight for today.  The sweater was just enough to keep the cool breeze from bothering me when I went outdoors, and the skirt is lovely.

I'd come up with more witty commentary, but I'm getting this posted late and I actually do need to be up early tomorrow.  It's time for the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Hermosa Beach, and I'm going with the Rebel Legion/501st group as Princess Leia.  Good times!  There will most assuredly be pictures.

Thursday Outfit: Fan-Smurfin'-Tastic

First off, my apologies for missing a few days- my little sister was visiting from the other end of the country, so I was otherwise occupied.

I wasn't thinking, when I bought this dress, about how the particular shade of blue is actually very smurfy.  And, coincidentally, the new trailer is being released today.  Is it going to be a terrible movie? Absolutely.  Should you at least watch the trailer anyway?  Well, I'm going to say yes because some of my friends worked very hard on it.

On the Job dress - ModCloth
Black Jenna flats - Bass

Doesn't get much simpler than this.  Part of that is because I had to be out the door by 5:30 this morning to get my sister back to the airport.  Her flight wasn't leaving that early, but I had to get her there before I went to work.  Woo hoo, round trip to LAX.  Anyway, I love this dress.  It's simple and gorgeous.  There are definitely things I could do to add to it, but when it's way too early and I just have to drag myself out the door, it does the trick on its own.

That said, have a trailer.  It went live maybe ten minutes ago, so enjoy!

Friday Outfit: Lost in a Good Book

Sunshine!  And lack of Star Wars props!  Are you sure it's Friday?  Well, considering I still have to go into work tomorrow, I can't say it feels like one.  But the calendar insists it is.

Red openwork sweater - Sparrow (via Anthropologie)
White camisole - H&M
Denim jeans - Gap
Black Jenna flats - Bass

I'd forgotten how itchy this sweater is.  Real wool is like that, but I usually wear it with a long sleeved shirt underneath it.  Clearly I did not make the same choice today, but that is because we actually got up around 70 degrees.  Looking at it from this vantage point, it seems like the sweater could benefit from a belt or some such.  I'll have to experiment with that.    It's an otherwise pretty standard outfit for me.  Maybe I should try to shake it up a bit next time I take this sweater out.  And wear something with more coverage underneath it, because I'll be honest- as soon as that photo was taken, I came back upstairs and took the thing off.

The book is one I just got in the mail today.  I love Jasper Fforde, in spite of his vocal hatred of fanfiction writers and going out of his way to insult them in his fifth Thursday Next book.  It was a totally non-classy move, but as a lover of books I can't help but love these stories.  I owned the first four at one point, but loaned The Eyre Affair to an old roommate who never returned it, and I gave Lost in a Good Book away since it was the only American edition I had and I wanted my set to match slightly more.  There are two sets of UK covers and I have books from both of them.  I was pleased to discover that the copy of Lost in a Good Book I'd ordered not only had the simpler cover whose design I prefer, but it's also autographed!

Way cool.  Though, if I ever meet the man, I will be tempted to tell him to be a little less hard on people who are inspired to write by his books when his own work relies so completely on the writing of others.  That their work happens to be in the public domain doesn't make him a better writer.

I mean, he's a better writer because he is a brilliant author.  But I do find his proprietary feelings baffling when his fourth book stars Hamlet.  You know, Shakespeare's Hamlet.

As I said, however, I love his writing.  All of it.  I have read everything he's written and it's made of awesome, so I will continue to read.  If you love literature and haven't read any of Fforde's work... what are you waiting for?  Go find yourself a copy of The Eyre Affair and start reading!

Thursday Outfit: The Sun is a Mass of Incandescent Gas

The colours are kind of sunset-like?  I'm going with it.  Also, I heard this song at work today, because we listen to awesome music.  Y'all should have heard my lead and me rocking out to RE: Your Brains.

I keep telling myself I'm going to do my laundry, and I keep getting distracted.  Not that I don't have a lot of things in my closet, but a lot of my staples are dirty and smelly and I'd like them washed.  Especially when I'd like to use them as layering pieces with my more summery things.

Black ruffled cardigan - Express
Kissing Friday Dress - Bailey 44 (via Anthropologie)
Black leggings - Eurotard
Red flats - Madden Girl

This dress is comfy and awesome.  I picked it up when Anthro had their entire clearance section marked an extra 25% off.  That was a fantastic sale.  This dress will be pretty fantastic in the summer once the temperature goes above 90 degrees, but for now it works below 60 if I add a couple of layers.

Also, logging my outfits like this every day gives me a whole new perspective on things I wear.  For one thing, I wear like, two pairs of shoes.  Even though I have more!  I just don't wear them as much.  Also, in spite of its absence today, I wear a lot of purple.  It's my favourite colour, so that makes sense.  I have black pieces, but don't necessarily wear a lot of black.  This is probably a result of that period of time in high school when my mom forbade me from buying any new black clothing because I had too much.

Not to mention, hello pale midwesterner.  Lived in California two years and I'm still blindingly white.  Go me.

In any case, I suppose it's good I think about my clothing choices more now.  Else I'd just go back to jeans, t-shirts, and swirly skirts, and continually be mistaken for a student at UCLA.

Wednesday Outfit: Marching in the Fancy Pants Parade

So, I guess I'm sticking with a Jonathan Coulton naming theme for now.  I could do much worse, as JoCo is pretty awesome.

Purple draped cardigan - H&M
Cream knit tank - Love Culture
Denim jeans - Gap
Black Jenna flats - Bass

In honor of Elizabeth Smith Miller and the bloomer girls, I wore pants today.  I suppose I could have gone more creative and tried recreating the same sort of outfit they wore, but I am in serious need of doing laundry and had a slightly limited selection to work with.  This did pretty well for me today.  It's comfy, has a distinct style to it, and you can't see from the photo but I did side braids in my hair that tie together in the back.  It's how my Jedi wig is styled and I love the look, I just never got around to doing it for myself. It worked well for my hair, and it also did well with the braided trim on the outfit.  Synergy!

That said, today is all about the love of pants.  Where would I be without them?  Where would you be without them?  Share your love for pants!

Tuesday Outfit: Code Monkey Like Tab and Mountain Dew

Code Monkey very simple girl, with big warm fuzzy secret heart- Code Monkey like you!

Blue cardigan - Love Culture
Alice in Wonderland "Monkeys" shirt - Imageworks exclusive
Favourite white skirt v2.0 - patterned from a Gap skirt
Red flats - Madden Girl

I like this shirt, possibly even more than the primary shirt for the show.  Alice was not really the most organized on the t-shirt front.  Usually there are order forms and things are voted on in a timely fashion, but I guess we were pretty busy and at some point someone realized, OH CRAP a whole bunch of people are finishing soon and maybe we should get the crew shirt out.  As a result, the crew shirt comes in two designs, two weights, and four colours, and I own three shirts (I wasn't too keen on the original green ones they rushed out to make sure everyone could have a shirt).

I like this outfit.  It's maybe only a few steps above my college standard of favourite white skirt + silly graphic tee + birkenstocks, but it works pretty well in the workplace.  Well, anything works pretty well in my workplace, but still!

Still trying to figure out what to do with my hair.  There's a lot of it and I don't feel like doing much with it at 6 in the morning.  I'm not cutting it off, since I'm actually trying to grow it longer, but I feel like I should have some simple styles I can throw together in my sleep, aside from my standard 'pin it all up with a zillion bobby pins!' look.  Which, while effective, should probably be rotated with some other looks.

Things to ponder.  For now, I believe dinner is calling my name.

Monday Outfit: I'm So Blue

Blue, the colour of sorrow in all the songs.  Fitting on not only the first day of having to wake up an hour earlier than I already did for work (6:30 AM... blech), but the day following Alice in Wonderland's defeat at the Oscars.  Okay, so it won Art Direction and Costume Design, but I was on the VFX team, so I was really hoping for us to win that one.  It would have been really awesome.  I guess I can't complain too much, though, since we were nominated in the first place.

Denim jacket - Gap
Terra Nova shirt - Mosaic exclusive
White long sleeved knit tee - H&M
Blue cotton skirt - Gap
Black leggings - Eurotard
Red flats - Madden Girl

It's not all doom and gloom over here.  I actually pulled my Terra Nova shirt out because I'm super excited to go again this year.  In, you know, September.  But I was talking about it with some folks over dinner last night, and it put me in the mind that I can be creative and awesome at any time.  Of course, it's a little easier when you're awake, which I'm not exactly right now.  But hey, my outfit matches.

I think, however, the skirt needs retiring.  You can't really tell from the pictures, but it has lost a lot of its vibrancy since I bought it, and it just doesn't look as nice anymore.  Its main redeeming quality is that it has pockets.  I do like the colour, but frankly, all that means is that I should get some fabric and use my pattern from my favourite white skirt, since it's a good cut on me and I can make it in any colour I want.

I also need to rethink my layering strategy.  It's cold when I leave for work, but it is not by the time I get to lunch.  I sit under an air conditioner and sometimes it's super chilly, but sometimes I'm overheating.  Logistics.  Still working them out.  Of course, in a month or two it'll be warm again until like, November.  Such is the life here.

Friday Outfit: A Bit of Colour on a Rainy Day

So, it appears that Fridays are the days of rain lately.  It does make outdoor picturing a little more difficult, but given that I live in Los Angeles where it's almost always sunny?  I'm not complaining.  I actually quite like rain, even if I prefer it to be a bit warmer when it chooses to do so.  Walking in a downpour when it's 80 degrees outside is divine.  Walking in a drizzle at 60 degrees is less pleasant, but I enjoy the sound on the roof when I'm inside.

Navy blue ribbed top - H&M
Purple knit tee - H&M
Black embroidered skirt - Floreat (via Anthropologie)
Red flats - Madden Girl

Friday is also apparently the day of posing with random Star Wars things.  I did mention I'm a huge nerd, right?  In case that point didn't sink in well enough:

Why yes, this is me, dressed as Princess Leia, outside Star Tours at Disneyland.  It was for charity, I swear.  It was also pretty awesome.

Anyway, the outfit.  I just didn't feel like wearing pants again, even though the weather was pretty crappy today.  That's what coats are for, and mine is pretty fabulous.  I'll be sure to display it sometime, it's one of my favourite things ever.  It occurred to me later in the day that tights probably would have been beneficial as well, but I spend most of my day indoors, so it wasn't a huge problem.  I have recently acquired some tights to play around with, though.  For my first two years in California, I have owned exactly one pair.  And they went missing sometime after my last outing as Princess Leia.  So I went shopping a while back specifically to pick up not only a pair of normal tights to wear with my Leia costume (and with normal clothes, I consider those from time to time as well), but some bolder choices as well.  I haven't been as quick to wear them at work largely because I walk around barefoot a lot, and would be less likely to do so in tights.  And I'll be honest, I like going shoeless.  Still, I've worn shoes/boots on some days and lived, so I should just get over that.

In any case, this was a pretty easy outfit to throw on at 7AM before running out the door.  The best part about that skirt is that it matches almost anything.  I have a blue shirt I love wearing with it, but I need to iron the ribbon tie and I was running late.  Also, it's cap sleeved and this is not cap sleeve weather.  I almost wore a green sweater that I've never worn in public, but I got because it was pretty cute and a little out of my box.  It's got puffy sleeves, which is a fashion convention I have never been attracted to, but I decided to give a go anyway.  Apparently I wasn't brave enough this morning, but another day I will be.  Probably.

Creativity tomorrow!  You're probably going to hear more about those drapes of white fabric I'm posing with, assuming I rearrange my sewing table and get some work done tonight.  Cutting is but half the battle.
